VACANT POSITION - CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Kenya USA Diaspora SACCO (the Sacco) is a savings and credit cooperative society registered
under the Cooperative Societies Act with its head office in Nairobi.
The Sacco’s objective is to provide investment opportunities as well as a mechanism for
Kenyans living in the Diaspora to save and borrow money at a low cost to meet their socio
economic needs.
The Sacco seeks to recruit a highly competent, resourceful, and motivated individual to fill the
position of a Chief Executive Officer (CEO), who meets the following criteria:
JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting directly to the Board, the Chief Executive Officer will provide strategic leadership
and overall management of the Sacco and its resources. The CEO will work closely with the
Board and management team to achieve set goals, targets, and policies of the Sacco.
DUTIES AND REPONSIBILITIES
The CEO shall include the following duties and responsibilities:
Provide strategic direction and leadership in accordance with the mandate of the Sacco
Oversee the supervision and execution of the day to day affairs of the Sacco
Formulate, develop, and implement all the Sacco policies and strategies
Present the Sacco’s vision, mission, products, and services consistently in a strong and
positive image
Facilitate the preparation and implementation of annual work plans
Manage the Sacco’s resources within budgetary guidelines, goals, and objectives
Enforce compliance and implementation of Board policies
Promote technological innovations to enhance organizational efficiency and productivity
Present the Sacco’s annual capital and revenue budgets to the Board for consideration
Oversee sound financial management and investment of the Sacco’s budget
Oversee effective management of the Sacco’s human resources
Provide strategic linkages with the business community, government agencies and other
social partners
Ensure compliance with all statutory, legal, and regulatory requirements
Oversee development and implementation of corporate social responsibility initiatives
Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Board and from time to time

Experience working with boards with a clear understanding of corporate governance

Assertive, pro-active, diligent, and committed to high standards of service delivery
Excellent knowledge in use of IT and ERP systems
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
Be a Kenyan Citizen of sound mind
Holds a Bachelors’ degree from recognised institution
Holds a Masters’ Degree in Finance/Strategic Management or equivalent post-graduate
qualification
Accounting certification CPA(K)/ACCA
Minimum of 10 years relevant experience with at least 5 years in senior management
positions
Prior working experience in cooperative movements will be an added advantage
Membership to relevant professional bodies with good standing e.g. ICPAK, IHRM
Working knowledge of banking and accounting systems
TERMS OF SERVICE
The CEO shall hold office for a renewable period of three years
