In a move geared towards strengthening the capacity of African
Co-operatives leaders through knowledge and experience exchange
with Japanese Co-operatives, the International Labour Organization the credit union system is highly upheld and its role in the historical
(ILO) in conjunction with the Japanese Consumer’s Co-operative
Union has organized study tours.

2018 INTERNATIONAL CO-OPERATIVE
ALLIANCE GENERAL ASSEMBLY
Date: 21st October, 2018
Venue: Buenos Aires, Argentina
The global Co-operative community will on 21 October this
year converge in Buenos Aires, Argentina to participate in
the General Assembly of the International Co-operative
Alliance.
The event has been organised in agreement with the V
Summit of the Co-operatives of the Americas which will be
held from 23rd and 26th October this year.
The event has been put together by Co-operatives of
the Americas and the Co-operative Confederation of the
Argentine Republic (COOPERAR), with the main theme of
‘Co-operatives at a time of global challenges’.

the Global Conference held by the International Co-operative
Alliance (ICA).
The event brings together Alliance members and the global
co-operative community to celebrate the occasion that allows
co-operators to connect, learn and set out the course for the Co-
operative in the years ahead.
