Born in 1942, Cyrus Kabira Njine founder of Bingwa SACCO breathed his last Previous awards
on 13th July 2019, leaving a rich legacy.
2018
Mr Njine founded the then Kirinyaga Tea Growers in 1984 which later
transformed to Bingwa SACCO Ltd, serving as the chairman until his demise. • Highest Depositor Central Region

He will be celebrated as a selfless leader whose able leadership saw the SACCO
grow in leaps and bounds. • 1st Position in Capitalization -

Under his able leadership the SACCO commenced Front Office Services Activities
(FOSA) in 1993. • 1st Position in Risk Management-

By July, when he succumbed, the SACCO's total assets stood at Sh5.2 billion while
loans disbursed to members amount to Sh17.1 billion since inception. • 1st Position in Technology
Optimization – Agricultural Based
In 2005 Mr Njine was honoured and awarded the Head of State Commendation by SACCOs
former President Mwai Kibaki.
• 2nd Best Managed SACCO -
Through his selfless figure head role, the SACCO was voted as the Best Rural SACCO Agricultural Based SACCOs 2018
for three consecutive years.
• 2nd Position Most Efficient -
While at the helm of the leadership Mr Njine saw the SACCO scoop most prestigious Agricultural Based SACCOs 2018
awards annually during Ushirika Day celebrations which is marked every year.
• 2nd Position in Risk Management-
In this year's Ushirika Day celebrations officiated by President Uhuru Kenyatta Country Wide 2018
at KICC, the SACCO bagged many trophies both at the National and County level.
