9th Annual SACCO Leaders Convention (SLC), will be held at Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort & Spa, Mombasa, from the 19th to the 23rd of February, 2024.
The theme: “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: The New Landscape for SACCOs.”
The business case for diversity in SACCOs is simple: Diversity is a good investment. Diversity leads to better service, greater innovation, improved solutions, and increased membership. This strengthens SACCOs and makes them more sustainable, ultimately leading to greater strength for the entire SACCO system in the country.
The 9th SACCO Leaders Convention will address important issues including the future of financial inclusion, climate-smart financing, the inclusive growth agenda, financial turbulence, diversity, equity, and other key questions that SACCOs are currently facing.
Objective of the Convention: -
To provide insight into how SACCOs can be positioned as vehicles to accelerate Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the finance sector
The specific objectives include:
1. To showcase success stories of diversity and financial inclusion through improved products and services.
2. To discuss an industry roadmap that can enable greater benefits from digital technologies in the future to enhance financial inclusion among SACCOs.
3. To create awareness among SACCO leaders of the need for and benefits of collaboration with the government and other financial service providers.
4. Learn how to enhance the member and employee experience with DEI initiatives and impact measurement.
5. To discuss pain points that SACCOs face when delivering financial services to their members and come up with solutions to overcome barriers to financial well-being for the members.
6. Discover ways to revolutionize diversity and financial inclusion with innovative products, services, and platforms.
7. Gather and share resources to enrich programs, strengthen strategic initiatives, and reinforce sustainability plans.
The convention is divided into general plenary and breakout sessions, allowing participants to focus on areas of interest from their perspective. To lead the discussions, there will be celebrated speakers drawn from the industry, private and public sectors, both locally and internationally.
